Country fans in Alabama are making tracks for Cullman this weekend, ready to take in two days of music at Rock the South.
The festival, now in its fourth year, takes its twang seriously, but also stretches the lineup to include Southern rock, bro-country, hick-hop and a taste of downhome blues. This year's acts range from Alan Jackson and Travis Tritt to Brantley Gilbert and Blackberry Smoke.
And let's face it: Where else can concertgoers cool off in a swimming hole that's shaped like the state and surrounded by hay bales?
Cowboy boots, ball caps and Daisy Dukes should be out in full force at the event, brought to you by Birmingham resident Sara Evans, her football-star hubby, Jay Barker, and concert promoter Shane Quick.
